How Natural Bath Salts Can Soothe Eczema

How Natural Bath Salts Can Soothe Eczema

Eczema can be miserably itchy. Children with eczema are constantly told “don’t scratch.” And put in gloves at night so they don’t damage their skin during their sleep.

So the concept of using bath salts to help ease eczema symptoms may seem to be rather contradictory. Surely a product like bath salts could sting, rather than soothe the condition?

But in fact our Genuine Bath Salts can do wonders for alleviating the dry skin conditions that accompany eczema and help the skin in a number of different ways. (We’re not just saying that, it’s what our loyal customers have written to tell us.)

  • Soothing and helping to heal soreness simultaneously
  • Reducing bacteria that may cause skin infection

Soaking in a mineral bath can also be very soothing and we’ve had many good reports on our bath salts. You don’t have to travel all the way to the Dead Sea to soak up the mineral goodness – you can buy it in Boots for £7.89. (It’s also safe to use for babies too.)

For everyday care, you might find our Sulphur Soap helpful too. Customers have reported finding it very soothing and say ‘it doesn’t sting” even when used on very active eczema patches. It is naturally moisturising and calming with no chemical irritants.

  • It removes dead skin cells to prevent the skin from flaking
  • It can be used on problem patches – like elbows, behind knees, ears …

Remember that eczema sufferers produce dead skin cells more frequently than those with normal skin. Cells that need to be treated and removed more regularly.

After bathing, moisturise the skin further with our Natural Mineral Body Lotion, which contains no chemicals, just natural mineral goodness.

Many of our loyal customers report that our Dead Sea products work almost instantly in alleviating eczema symptoms. However, we know that the effect is cumulative too – meaning that overtime the relief from problems becomes more and more effective. We like to think it’s the natural minerals doing their natural healing work on skin overloaded with the chemicals and stresses we all experience in everyday modern day life.

Eczema sufferers know that finding a treatment that works is a matter of trial and error. But many have found our products to be just what they needed – see what our loyal customers have to say here.

None of our products are expensive and all are under £10. You don’t pay for fancy packaging and advertising – just time-proven, chemical-free skincare that could be just what makes a difference to your eczema relief. And it is unlikely to irritate your skin.

So maybe give our natural products a try and see how they could improve your eczema symptoms.

Ways To Deal With Acne Problems

Ways To Deal With Acne Problems

There’s no two ways about it, acne can be a real blight.

It generally rears its ugly head during puberty – when to be honest, teenagers have quite enough other things to be thinking about rather than getting zits. Stuff like making GCSE choices, studying, friendships, relationships, sports …

Having regular skin breakouts can result in a real confidence crisis. And acne isn’t just confined to teenagers either – it can also appear in adults at times of hormonal changes like the menopause.

Nowadays there are loads of acne treatments available – creams, lotions, facial washes – and in extreme cases a GP might prescribe a course of medication.

But what can you do to lessen the symptoms of acne and help yourself to make breakouts of spots and pimples less regular? Keep those zits under control?

First of all, carry on living a healthy lifestyle

Get plenty of fresh fruit, exercise (outside if possible), sleep and try not to get too stressed. Exercise and meditation can cause real alleviation of stress symptoms, so think about activities you enjoy that you will stick to.

Change your pillowcase daily to stop bacteria multiplying. Drink plenty of water.

What about skincare that will help spots and pimples?

There are a lot of acne products out there which claim to eliminate blackheads, spots, banish redness and give you a cure.

Well, some may work but many are very harsh on the skin and can create a whole different set of problems and even spark up an allergic reaction.

It’s best to start off taking things gently. Use natural products with a minimum of additives (like perfume). Cleansers that clean the skin effectively without draining out all the natural oils the dermis needs to stay healthy.

It might seem odd to use soap on your face – but many acne sufferers have tried our Black Mud Mask Soap and reported that it has made a real difference to reducing breakouts of spots.

It’s not expensive (£3.75 in Boots)

You can use it as a face wash – or as a mask (in which case leave it on your face for a minute or so to allow the natural minerals to sink into your pores).

And of course, its use isn’t just restricted to your face. You can use it all over your body, particularly on areas prone to acne like backs and chests.

Because it contains only natural ingredients, it is sls free and contains no parabens, so you know that there are no unpleasant chemicals with potential side effects lurking. And it’s also suitable for vegans.

OK magazine said our products “help skin complaints, such as eczema, psoriasis and acne, as well as stimulating the blood circulation and cell rejuvenation.”

You can read more reviews from happy customers about how Black Mud Mask soap has helped with acne, spots and blemishes here.

But perhaps you shouldn’t just take our word for it. Why not buy a bar of Black Mud Mask soap and see what a difference it could make to your skin?

A bar will last you a good few weeks. You won’t see results overnight – the soap has a build-up effect, but within a few days you may well be delighted with the positive effective it has on your acne problems.

Soap & Water. Did Our Great Grandmothers Get Their Beauty Routine Right?

Soap & Water. Did Our Great Grandmothers Get Their Beauty Routine Right?

Look at the options for skincare on the shelves of shops and chemists today and it’s easy to become overwhelmed by what’s on offer. (And spend a lot of money at the same time too.)

Particularly when it comes to cleansing and nourishing the skin.

Our great grandmothers would be amazed at how things have changed since their day. Their skincare routine probably consisted of a bit of cold cream to wipe any make-up off, soap and water and a touch of moisturiser.

Homemade face packs made from natural ingredients such as oats, cucumbers, used tea bags (for tired eyes) and egg whites may have been as far as pampering went.

Fitness might have been as simple as walking everywhere, cycling and doing the housework.

Did they get it right after all?

There’s no doubt that nowadays there are amazing products out there which claim to reduce wrinkles, fine lines, brighten the skin. And many have been carefully scientifically tested.

But sometimes skincare is a case of less is more. Keep it simple.

If you load chemicals onto your skin, you’re running the risk of aggravating allergies, provoking an unwanted reaction … and you never really know what’s in the mix in any case.

Most dermatologists think that skincare should consist of a product that cleanses the skin as gently as possible, without stripping it of natural oils. And wearing a high spf sunscreen daily. And that’s it. (Keeping your skin out of the sun is the most effective way of warding off wrinkles and ageing.)

Time for a Detox?

As part of a detox, you might like to rethink your skincare routine. Opt for products that don’t claim to revolutionise your life or turn you into a great beauty but rather do the job simply, effectively, without fuss and without digging into your savings account.

Maybe you need to take a little time out and try something that’s 100% natural, won’t cost a fortune but do the job simply and effectively.

But won’t soap and water dry my skin?

Because our mineral soaps don’t contain harsh chemicals, they don’t strip the skin of natural oils – so they don’t leave your face leaving tight afterwards.

You might like to try our Black Mud Mask soap – which has a build-up effect. You won’t notice any change immediately but over a few weeks you could find that blemishes and acne are gratifyingly diminished. (But don’t just take our word for it, read what others say about it.)

Then there’s our Sulphur Soap. Because both of these soaps don’t contain perfume you may find the smell unusual – although not unpleasant. (And you can buy them online from Boots now.)

And they’re not just for use on your face – you can use them in the bath or shower and again, you’ll almost certainly find that your skin feels pleasantly cleansed, rather than tight. In fact, sufferers of psoriasis and eczema are known fans and they are the last people to use a product that’s drying.

Save your £££s

At this time of year with post Christmas credit card bills to be paid (and possibly tax bills) it’s always good to be able to save money. Our soaps are under £5 and will last you a few weeks. (And your great grandmother would almost certainly approve of saving money for a rainy day!)

But don’t feel you’re cutting corners with your skincare – rather you’re indulging your skin with 100% natural products.

Soap and water. Just what your great grandmother would recommend. Why not give it a try for a few weeks?
